Overview
Q*Bird was proud to participate in Quantum Meets 2026, held on 20 May 2026 in Amsterdam, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, founders and innovators from across the global quantum ecosystem.
Organised by QDNL, the event highlighted the growing momentum behind the Netherlands’ quantum ecosystem and the accelerating collaboration across quantum communication, computing and sensing. Throughout the exhibition and conference programme,
Q*Bird shared how quantum secure communication is already operational across real-world infrastructure environments through the MDI-QKD Falqon® Series. The discussions focused on how scalable, multipoint-to-multipoint quantum-secure communication networks can integrate into existing telecom and fibre infrastructure to strengthen long-term resilience and trusted connectivity across critical environments.
Our CEO and Co-Founder, Dr. Ingrid Romijn, contributed to multiple sessions throughout the day, including:
- Fireside Chat with QuantWare
- Panel discussion with the Quantum Internet Alliance (QIA), “Architecture to impact: Europe’s quantum internet”
- High-level panel with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “Where the future of quantum becomes reality”
The sessions explored Europe’s evolving quantum ecosystem, operational deployment challenges and the growing role of trusted quantum secure infrastructure.
In collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Q*Bird conducted a live demonstration of an operational MDI-QKD network featuring six simultaneous VPN channels secured through Q*Bird’s technology, MDI-QKD powering Falqon® Series.
The demonstration showcased:
- Real-time encrypted communication between secured governmental environments
- Operational readiness of scalable MDI-QKD infrastructure
- Multipoint-to-multipoint quantum secure communication
- Integration into existing infrastructure environments
The live showcase reinforced how quantum secure communication is moving beyond concept demonstrations and supporting trusted digital infrastructure today.
Huge thanks to QDNL, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ecosystem partners and all participants for the insightful discussions and exchanges throughout Quantum Meets 2026.
Together, we continue advancing the future of trusted quantum secure connectivity!
